_ _ _ _ _______MAJOR TOM_______ _ _ _ _ by Steve Moss Version 2.0 REMIX - November 20, 1999 -UPDATE- Congratulations! It's twins! Major Tom now exists in two flavors, ORIGINAL & REMIX. I like both, so rather than supplant the orignal I'm making both available so that you may choose. Anybody with Winamp 2.x may able to enjoy this, but why not download Winamp 2.5 anyhow? It's free now. _ _ _ _ _______________________ _ _ _ _ -OVERVIEW- MAJOR TOM is an homage to the US space program. It's derived from NASA's Apollo-era control consoles. It features all windows and windowshade modes. Sorry, but there are no cursors. If enough people desire some, I'm sure I could be swayed to create a set. Graphics (c) 1999 by Stephen Moss. All graphics are original, and were created in Adobe Photoshop 5. _ _ _ _ _______________________ _ _ _ _ -REMIX- Major Tom Remix is a 'people's choice' if you will. Based on people's comments, I've rebuilt the titlebars from the ground up, making them match the pre-existing Playlist and Minibrowser windows. Some suggested changes I've decided not to incorporate. I did not want to compromise the general integrity of the design. To be true to the vintage NASA technology I'm paying tribute to, I cannot use symbols instead of text on buttons, nor can I enlarge the text on said buttons. Though their readability may suffer, that's how it goes. Trying to satisfy you guys while balancing my own satisfaction with the finished product has been tough, and the release of this edition of the skin has thus been some time in coming. Thanks for being patient (if you were anticipating this at all). For those who would like the ORIGINAL version, please e-mail me. _ _ _ _ _______________________ _ _ _ _ -IMPORTANT- Though essentially complete, your input, in the form of posted messages or e-mails, is important. Please drop me a line and let me know if I'm doing a good job, or if there are things I can do to improve. It taught me a little trick which solved an otherwise irreconcileable problem I was having with the way things all fit together on this one. Thanks should also go out to $teven. When he posted his skin "Fessate," he left his Photoshop master in the archive, and study of it taught me some other new things. He's a master skinner, and has earner my respect countless times. Thanks also to everyone who downloaded and gave feedback on my first skin, "Steel This Amp." You all encouraged me to keep on skinning. Time will tell if that was a good move on your part. Thanks to all who've tried this skin and seen fit to take the time to let me know you like something about it. Personally I'm quite pleased with it and I'm glad so many of you are, too. Special thanks to everyone at Skinz.org who downloaded early versions of this skin and gave me reassurance and support. Your comments meant a great deal, and I'd be a moron not to acknowledge it. On a related note, I'd also like to thank the folks at Skinz for their patience as this skin evolved. _ _ _ _ _______________________ _ _ _ _ -CONTACT- If you have any sort of feedback (and believe me, it's all appreciated), drop me a line.
